My Exciting Day In The Lab

I had class today, this semester is my last one before nursing school, hopefully I'll get accepted. Anyways, I'm taking microbiology. Last Tuesday we looked at sample tubes of different kinds of bacteria. We learned how to take the bacteria and make cultures, my bacteria was bacillus, she told us that we wouldn't get our own cultuers back because the class before us would use them. Today we got the cultures back to look at them, some how, don't know how, but I got my own culture back!! I was so excited to actually get to see my own and that I had actually grown bacillus!! We took the cultures and had to make slides with them. We stained them and all that, it was interesting. Then we got to look at our slides through the microscope. It was so awesome looking!! The staining process was long, all the die washed off of my slide, or so it seemed but the bacillus had turned a bright fushia color, it's was way cool! I think I'm going to really enjoy this class!!
